Hove pubs for Cup Final / decent bands

A large contingent of us (around 20) are attending the Sussex v West Indies game this Saturday and then want to move on to watch the Cup Final in a pub somehwere in Hove. Large screens are a must! I understand The Cricketers isn't suitable and the Blind Busker has been mentioned but thought I would see if anyone else knew of any other suitable venues?

Following the game we would then want to move on to a decent pub and if there is a good band playing then all the better. Anyone got any recommendations so I can at least start phoning a few places?

Cheers folks! Any feedback would be really appreciated!

Pubs near cricket ground to watch football:

The Palmeira has improved considerably over the last couple of years and is now average - the covered big screen outside in smoking terrace is a plus as is it's proximity to the ground
The Montpellier is a cracking pub for watching football, 5 mins from ground proper pub
The Conqueror is a smashing back street boozer again about 5 mins from the ground, normally gets a good crowd for big games and if the weather's good they'll probably have an outside screen (no vested interest as I no longer work there)

regarding live music in pubs on a Saturday night, haven't got a clue

I really appreciate that! Will get on the blower and phone those pubs today - just want to make sure they are happy with 20 blokes suddenly descending on them. What decent football pub wouldn't be?!

The seaside.
The Neptune has live music on Saturdays. Will likely be a rock covers band, but I assume you mean free entry which it is. It's the first day of the Fringe, so expect to pay for live music anywhere else, eg some jazz shit at the Old Market for £15.
