I'm planning a trip to HK in september. I want to do 10 days in total, 5 days in the city and 5 days somewhere a bit more secluded with a nice beach, with a bit of nightlife...anyone have any recommendations for the second part? (I'm prepared to drive or fly up to 3 hours away)

ta in advance x

yeh not too far. ive not been but plan to next year. a mate went to boracay few months ago said it was good. thing is if you go there there are hundreds of tiny little islands to explore . meant to be beautiful. manillaseagull on here could probably help you more for obvious reasons. i know ill be pecking his brain when i go

You can easily get to Macau or Shenzhen (across the Chinese border).

EDIT: Oops didn't read the original post properly, sorry forget the above.

heard good things about Cebu and Boracay? anyone been?

Boracay does not really have any nightlife. Very cheap beer and very relaxed, and good if you like Korean food (very popular with them).

If you want perhaps the best beach you will see in your life, go, if you want clubbing and birds, dont.
