i have a quandry and in the absence of an actual hitchhikers guide, who else to ask but NSC? (and im too tired to try structuring the question for Google).

i recall there was always something that bugged me from Mostly Harmless that i couldnt put my finger on. i've just listen to the radio version on youtube and i've twiged it: who is it that Ford finds trapped in virtual accounting software at the guide head office? i dont get it, and im sure its not explicitly said in the book either.

Although it's not made explicit, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be Emily Saunders, who was a girl that Ford, ahem, liked.

The link is that it was Colin, the flying robot, that Ford used to put the Trojan Horse into the software. Colin was the name of Emily's dog.
