Andy Hessenthaler was disappointed with the penalty decision that cost his side a share of the points in a 1-0 home defeat to Brighton.

Leon Knight earned the penalty after a foul by Chris Hope and he stepped up to send keeper Steve Banks the wrong the way for his first goal of the season.

Hessenthaler said: "From where I was it was hard to see, but it looked harsh.

"Chris Hope didn't think it was a penalty, but that's the way it's going for us at the moment. We didn't deserve to lose the game and it had a draw written all over it until the penalty.

"The pressure is on us at home because our fans have got high expectations and no disrespect to Brighton, but we should be beating them.

"We have got to stick together, work hard and be positive and come out of this sticky patch."

welll he can f*** off. we had a blantent pen in first 10 mins, nicholas was completely taken out and their keeper should have been sent off, and if their player brings down our player in the box, its a pen just like their useless defender did.

and why should they be beating us?!?! we r ABOVE u hessenthaler. what an idiot he is.

.

Isn't that what Preston and Leicester said as well? Maybe some of these arrogant teams will get the message that we are not the whipping boys of the division this time round.

No disrepect Hesenthaller, but your team looked like a disorganised and demotivated relegation side and we need to be beating crap like you if we are going to stay in this division.
:salute:

I have no sympathy for him at all. He's past it and should retire, or Gillingham are going down.

In all fairness to him, they need to be beating teams like Albion to stay in this division. We are likely to be one of the teams down there at the end of the season & last time we got relegated it was down to us not beating the teams near us. Defeats at Stoke & Walsall spring to mind.

I don't think he will last the season. Scally can't afford relegation.

They were rubbish at Reading last year..
Take a look at the league table, and see where they are..Right down the bottom, with a rubbish goal difference.
In Fact, just take a look at the league table, it looks great!!!!!!!!

To say you've got 100% home record, we must be the team who gave you the biggest scare.

Back to the Gills, I reckon Hess will be sacked soon

They are lucky to have been in this division for so long.

And there was me thinking this thread was about the second world war.
