As for the incident today, when it happened there were lots of boos and a large proportion of our crowd chanted "Dodgy keeper," which I am not ashamed to say I joined in with. The man has cost us big time in a vital game, and if he can't take criticism for that then he shouldn't be a professional. However, what was out of order was when he came over at the end, obviously very upset, and apologetic. To shove that back in his face was disgraceful. I am all for reacting to incidents on the pitch when they happen, but to insult him as he walked towards us just wasn't on.

I don't think 40% of the Albion fans booed Henderson, it was just that those that did were more vocal that the ones who gave syympathetic applause. All credit to Kerry for "rescuing" WH from the taunting Bournemouth fans and making him face us. He was clearly devastated and close to tears - those who booed him (not me) were venting their disappointment and in the cold light of day will be embarrassed by their actons.

The more important issue is why we struggled for 93 minutes against a team second from bottom of our league. Are we happy that our no nonsense Centre Half (El Abd) is our MOM and Gatting, Revell and Robinson only had two shots between them? Robinson's was a selfish attempt from an impossible angle when he should have passed.

Similarly why does Cox fail to hit the target with his free kicks and why does Rents, a so called dead ball specialist run 100 yards to take a corner and them float an aimless cross into the keepers hands?

Anyone else think that Butters has put on a "few" pounds over Christmas, or is it the lucky white shirts!

Exactly. Those booing were gobbing off while the most of us were gobsmacked.
Hence their sounding off was prominent. That we couldn't send an on-target shot at their goal is noteworthy, excepting a couple of invasions where our onrushing players didn't finish from 2 yards - so maybe one save from a lunge at a rebound.

El-Abd was noticably brave in the tackles, and put his noggin in where boots were flying. Man of the match for us, indeed.

1. The ridiculous formation, whereby Robinson played wide LEFT, Revell wide right, and Gatting alone up front. Unfortunately (and I really hate to say this), but Gatting is not good enough.

2. The fact that we couldn't keep the ball for more than a couple of passes for the whole of the last 10 minutes. How many times did the ball get cleared from our defence, only for us to lose it almost instantly? Unfortunately Hammond has to take a fair amount of blame here.

Added to that, Butters was a liability - his first touch was diabolical.

Apparently (according to a Bournemouth supporting friend), Brizzle City had 31 efforts on goal against them on Boxing Day....we had about four.

But I still don't think we're that bad....we just need a decent experienced midfielder - let's hope there's one lined up in the transfer window Or, when's Oatway back?

Agree totally about the midfielder.

Anderton today controlled their midfield, everything went through him and he wanted everything.

We could not match that with our 4-3-3 formation. Far too narrow.

That formation straight away puts pressure on a defence that at this present time is short on confidence.

Henderson is a good keeper. He needs our support, as do the rest of the team who did'nt really turn up today.

Hendo's f*** up had NOTHING to do with those above. That was a purely self-inflicted calamity of Hendo's - and only Hendo's - doing.

The fact of us not being clearly in the lead by the time that f*** up came, and not rendering it completely meaningless - I would largely agree with those points.

Gatting is not good enough as a lone striker. As a striker, he played well against Carlisle.

The issue, as you point out is 4-5-1. It beats me why we play this system. Cox, Revell, Robinson and Gatting all want to bomb on and have run and a go at the defenders. I think Wilkins should do his level best to let them. I don't mean a gung-ho attitude to going forwards, but don't hamstring them by giving them too many defensive duties.

Simply cannot agree with you here about Hammond. There was a fair amount of quick passing, once we had reverted to 4-4-2, and Hammond was pulling the strings (i.e. when Kerry Mayo came on). But you make the point that the passes from defence to forwards were diabolical - I agree. However, from midfield to forwards, at times, we were excellent.

The biggest lesson to be learned from today has to be by the 2 Deans Wilkins and White as it most obvious that wea re not equipped to play 4 - 3- 3 and all the time that we did we were overun and outplayed. When we switched to 4 - 4- 2 we were able to mix it with them and show some good movement. I was rather suprised that the first substitution didnt put Lynch alongside Butters and El Abd back in midfield because I feel sure that he would have stopped Anderton playing.

2nd mistake was that we didnt look likely to shoot let alone score so why have a striker, who they consider to be good enough to warm the bench, still sitting there after 90 minutes. Elder should have been on 10 minutes before the end at least, or when Revell was booked as he had by then lost his fight.

I would have Kuipers in goal, not just after today but over Henderson's displays over the past year or so - doesn't command his area - no confidence in him from the back four - they haven't a clue what he's going to do next - why did el-abd kick the ball into the stand first half when it was clearly the goalies ball ?

Wrap him up, label him as an Irish International goalkeeper then sell him in January. Then get a decent keeper in his place to fight with Kuipers for no 1.

Given that Bournemouth had won only once since September at the start of the match, its surprising that our midfield couldn't control the game, and the forwards dominate the opposition half - however the only comments today on NSC seem to be about a last minute slip by Henderson.

That takes some explanation - can anybody who went enlighten us?

Let us just hope he doesn't repeat that remarkable feat that saw us exit the League Cup against Southend this season - if you remember, Southend corner, he dashes madly out, ball flies over his head, ball gets knocked behind him by one of our own players, he dashes back to his goal-line only to knock the ball into his own net. The most farcical keepers' own goal you will ever see.

If at the end of the season we either get relegated or fail to reach the play offs by 1 point then is the time to start slagging off Henderson.

As regards todays result I think that we must look at many other areas that could and should have got us 3 points like the cross from Robinson that was headed into the side netting from about 3 yards out, and the lack of shots that Neil Moss had to save, and the poor supply of balls from the midfield to the front men, we can go on forever.

Did you join in the chants against Hinshelwood when he made is mistake against Port Vale? Perhaps you didn't because there weren't any. There have been plenty of mistakes by Albion players in the past four games but no one gets singled out like Henderson. From what I can tell he has been at fault for only two of the last nine goals we have conceded, a record that Kuipers probably equals too.
I personally don't think there is too muvh difference between Kuipers and Henderson, trouble is on here people look at Kuipers career at the Albion thorugh rose tinted spectacles sometimes.

Simply not true, Roberts was not even fit enough to resume Reserve and bench duties until the end of October, just as Booker's short reign as acting manager was coming to an end, well after Coppell had left.
