my friend has poured some cider on laptop. i am having to use the on-screen keyboard. is there a quick fix? the keys, when pressed, produce rubbish.

switch it off then back on again

Seriously - turn it off and unplug it! Then dry it (without melting the keys or the screen you Dodo), and once fully dry turn back on.

If it is dry cider you might get away with allowing it to dry naturally, if it is sweet cider the keys may be completely shagged (note use of technical term) as the sugar will stick them together.
