I can't get to tomorrow's match and can't meet up with my friend to give him my season ticket.

I know you can usually collect a replacement paper ticket from the club shop, but can he go in and pick it up without me present? Has anyone done this before who could help me please? I've tried calling the club but can't get through to anyone at the weekend.

Thanks

Thank you, I have phoned the club but their phone lines aren't open until Monday, which doesn't help me for tomorrow.

Just wanted to know if anyone had had any experience with this so far?

I may be wrong, but I don't think your friend can claim your ticket in his name. There should be some sort of procedure in place for someone who sows up having forgot their ticket (I believe there was mention of the card having that game removed so it can't be used), with a paper ticket being printed.

I have no idea how stringent the ID checks are when claiming replacements for lost/forgotten cards, i.e. I don't know if your friend would only need to know your fan number and/or address to claim a replacement in your name.

Not much help for you, but I've called up the club in the past and told them to cancel my card for a match and leave a paper ticket in "Mr. X"'s name at the ticket office. Mr. X has then proceeded to pick up the ticket on matchday from the office without a problem.

But if the phoneline is closed on weekends, I guess you can't do the same.

Thank you for the replies, that's been really helpful.

They never had any checks in place at withdean, hopefully it's still the same now, thanks guys.

I am reasonably sure that he if he went to the ticket office and said he was you but had left his ticket at home he would be allowed in witha paper ticket although at Withdean they charges you then reimbersed the money on production of the ticket. In this case they can just take the game off of the card so no extra payment needed I wouldnt think.

I left my season ticket at home and just walked into the shop and said my name and got printed one, so if he goes in says he left his season ticket at home and quotes your name in theory it should work.
