Help! My mother's freeview box keeps defaulting to Television X

Apparantly to reset a sky digi box you have to unplug from the wall for a minimum of two minutes and ten seconds, then plug back in but leave power off for another two minutes and ten seconds.
Not sure if it works for a freeview box, also could be complete bollox, but worth a try

Only needs 20 seconds unplugged from the wall ( including any other AV equipment plugged in as well which can passthrough a residual or standby charge ) The only effective way for TVX not to appear is to do a scan which excludes the scrambled channels after watching the 10 minute freeview.
