Looks like we really need some proactive signings. It is going to be a very difficult job. Sellers market ?

We got lucky with Willie Irvine (better than Darren Bent) and Peter Ward (better than Sterling). We shouldn't have sold Buckley though !!!

There is not a striker out there. Unless anybody can think of one, which they can't! He will be 6 foot tall and have a bit of pace if he can be trained to play.

I've got a sneaking feeling that Obika will come good for another club!

I agree with all of that, although that is a squad of 24.

With 3 GKs, I'd prefer a 25 man squad, so my choice would be to add in an additional 'Tex-like' midfielder to the above.

I am not really a fan of loan players, but was talking to a Manure fan who goes regularly. He was talking about players they might release and players they might keep but put out on loan. Apparently that striker Wilson will be kept but may go out on loan, this fan said he is good and knows where the net is.
Any views?

It's a yes, he's extremely quick, impressive work-rate, strong for his age, and knows where the net is. Suspect he'd get 15, probably 20+ goals.

We need a Championship ready LB, a flexible/utility defender, a CM willing to make runs ahead of the ball and some pace in the front 3. Then it's a matter of balancing out the squad. It's also worth pointing out that we need to be able to keep players fit too. Crofts, Stephens, March etc were all big misses for us this season. Put that along with the likes of Aguestien and Toko then there was much money being paid on wages that wasn't seen on the pitch. Something that can cripple any side at this level.
