Or temporarily load Frau Tubthumper's card to HT's apple wallet, see if that works. If it does, then the problem can be isolated to the card. To double check, load HT's card to Frau's apple wallet, see if that works

I will likely work because of the way tokenisation works.

I don’t want to confuse people but essentially each time you load a card a new token is created. If he loads his card onto another device a new token is also created.

The current token is broken. It can only be fixed by the issuer.

Alternatively he can resolve by getting a new card and load creating a fresh token.

I’m not able to add my only another credit card as I cannot verify it, due to being abroad. Grrrr

When I spoke to the bank a second time they said they had noticed a temporary block on my card. It was lifted and as far as they could see, there was no issue. He also said Apple can sometimes have a lag on a blocked card and to try again later. I forgot about this until just now when I ordered a coffee to be delivered….and Apple worked fine. I guess it was due to the lag but who knows.
