You go out and have a beer with the lads, Maybe once or twice aweek and feel merry. How much do you drink ? Tonight I've drank 12 cans of Kronenbourg and dont feel merry let alone pisssed.

How many cans does it take you to feel merry or How many does it take for you to be in the situation where you are leaning over the keyboard and straining your eyes trying to find the right key to press ?

I've got to that stage where I think I need a stronger beer to get merry but wont go down that road as we all know where that road leads dont we ?

By the way this is my 500th post :clap2:

Don't worry too much mate...................some nights I drink loads and don't feel like Ive had a drop.....................other nights I can have as little as 3 pints and feel pissed.

Spot on mate. If I drink in a pub and have 4 pints then I feel happy, but cans are a waste of time at home. But what can you do about it ? I mean, I like having loads of beers and sit in front of my comp and moniter NSC, Cant do that in a pub on a Lap top.

Now where is my medication......... :lolol:

Same as that - sometimes I can drink all day and feel frustratingly sober. Other days, such as Turkey v England, I can lose the power of speech in the space of just a few hours.

You wouldn't happen to be Cheshire Dolphin by any chance ? Last time I heard he was on some kind of travel or adventure.

I really don't like to drink to excess, it's not an interesting high on alcohol. Sorry if that's boring.
I do however drink about three every evening - could that be a problem actually? I hear one a day is good for you ....but not sure that 3 per diay is alright ?

I don't have a problem,

I drink,
I get drunk
I fall over
I wake up in the morning with a hangover.

Perfectly normal behaviour.

Indeed Tinx i think thats just about right

Drinking canned beer is always a depressing business. My definition of a drink problem is having no choice but to drink the disgusting gaseous piss that comes in cans.

On the other hand, a few pints of Harveys is a very convivial evening.

Well, I have my usual couple of hours in the pub on a Wednesday evening and most Friday lunchtimes. And before and after most Albion home games. At home I'll have the odd can or two some evenings, not all. Usually a bottle of wine on a Friday or Saturday night. Some Sunday lunchtimes I'll have 2 or 3 pints. When I'm out on a bender, I'll have probably about 6 pints, followed by a couple of shorts cos I get too bloated on lager to drink it all night. I don't see this as particularly excessive....? Or is it ? I dunno.

NO WAY could I handle 12 cans of Kronie like L B F, I'd be flat on my back in a coma.

My problem is never getting to the point where I think "I've had enough now, best stop."

This makes it tricky in Montreal as the pubs don't close until 3 or 4. Last night we managed to be sensible and called it a day around 1am. Hong Kong was worse - we'd go out around 7pm on a Saturday night, have a few beers and the odd bar snack and watch a Live Premiership game, followed by another 'as live'. We'd then move onto other bars. Usually around 7 or 8 am I would find myself sitting at a roadside with a bowl of noodles in one hand and a can of San Miguel in the other.

Looked at the title "Have you got a drink problem ?" and thought of that film "AIRPLANE" when the poor man says

"I have a drink problem..."

Then spills the drink down his top...

:lolol: :lolol: I love it.

My drink problem is under control - I went on the wagon on January 20th, 1990.

If your drinking causes problems in going about your everyday life, or is significantly affecting your social relationships, you have a drink problem. Lots and lots of people drink too much - i.e. more than is good for your health - but most don't have a drink problem.

Having said that, it is important to recognise that alcohol is a seriously dangerous drug - very addictive and very poisonous. The nation's drink problem is by some distance the nation's worst drug problem.
