Nope, I'm proud of this club especially as it stared disaster in the face and has come back. We may not be perfect but we have achieved a lot too.

I certainly envy other clubs with sugar daddy chairmen, stadiums that go up within 18 months of being considered, and fans who appreciate what they've got.

However, no matter if you have seen your club win the Prem, FA Cup, European Glory or whatever, NOTHING can compare to Hereford '97.

Being an Albion (or Orient, or even dare I say it Palace) fan for life says more about you than once a season trips to see 'your' club, be it Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea etc with a bunch of armchair dickheads saying "Which one is Rooney/Lampard/Henry" every five f***ing minutes.

If truth be known, when we were going week in week out to Gillingham, and hating every minute of it. my mate suggested I went with him to Arsenal. It was superb

I went once or twice mostly to midweek games, but certainly at the time I was very close to chucking in going to gillingham

Am I glad I took the right decision and stayed with the club....last season really tested that decision, however on balance I suppose I have made the right decision.....I suppose I am just destined to be dissapointed with football

No

because even clubs like Chelsea have no future. They can only get to a certian size when their own economics will dictate that they cannot grow. and once you stop growing you start stagnating, G14 wont let them in - they'vce spent too much winning the premiership but they won't get into the big European money becasue G14 are keen to keep it as closed a shop as they can - no promotion no relgaton no point.

Whereas us.................................. can at least aspire to being a yo-yo club:lolol:

Very true at least we have the ecstasy of promotions and despair of relegations to look forward to, in fact we seem to be obsessed with them. Oh, and no I don't ever wish that I followed someone else.

Silly thread, I could only support the club whose town I was born in.

great, that means I'm stuck with Maidstone United for life.

And a whole lot of other Albion fans are destined to be Truro, Norwich, Arbroath, Leigh RMI, Chichester City, Crawley Town, Runcorn, Havant & Waterlooville and Slough Town fans then

:lolol:

I knew some people would take this as me questioning my faith, it wasn't a question of that at all. I will never support any other team and I'm proud to be an Albion fan.

The only point I was making is how damn annoying it can be sometimes!

To say that they had thought about how much easier it would be, would destroy their credibility, surely. :jester:

I can't think that all these people that said no, actually have never thought about it.

Edna was quite clear, in that it wasn't a question of "Yes, I will switch allegiances". You can look but not touch, at least that is what an EX girlfriend told me.

Disappointed with football :lolol:

So two recent 1st place auto-promotions and a play-off final win are disappointing.

Well they weren't for me

Damn right.

Even if I WANTED to change, I couldn't. There's something about being a football fan- well, not a plastic Chelsea/Man United type- that means you can't just hop off and find another club, it wouldn't feel the same. Plus I've always wondered if, say, an Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea fan could ever get the same feeling of satisfaction from football that we fans of the game's lesser lights occasionally get.

But it doesn't stop me feeing insanely jealous, particularly when previously crap little clubs become half decent and streak off into the distance. Reading spring to mind.

You know your team's up shit creek when you start envying the facilities at the likes of Darlington and Northampton Town (for now, for now...)!

The correct answer is no, and it has been said a thousand times on threads of a similar nature. One of the reasons for me......Hereford, anyone who watched that game and the gut wrenching emotions that every Brighton fan experienced that day will live in the mind for ever. It was like watching a loved pet die only to be given the kiss of life and rebourne.................realy it was that extreme. No you cant go through that and "fall" for another club!
Talking of Hereford, just imagine we had been relegated that day nine years ago and we were playing Halifax at the Walkers Stadium to gain a place back in the Football league, do you think we would have taken more suporters than the 15000 present at the Hereford-Halifax game? I would like to think we may have taken about 25,000!!

thats the difference in the size of the clubs, we are much bigger than Hereford and the passion is always simering just below the surface.
