I'm excited for it, but only because it's on TV. Was never planning on taking time off work to go to it, so happy I can see it on the tellybox.

I may have listened to it on the radio, but it's not quite the same!

Pork pie land.
Have we ever won it?

I reckon tonight will be a tough test, I think Swindon will play a similar style of football to us but will want to win more. I reckon it will go to extra-time but we will sneak a late winner in extra-time...

Obviously not! But we have had some fantastic runs in it over the years. It is far easier to draw decent teams in it than the FA Cup.

I think the fact Poyet more or less said at the forum, that he wasn't interested in the cups this season, makes it a bit weird as well. Will be very interesting to see what side he puts out....It's not often I agree with disrespecting cup competitions but there can be no doubt it affected Cardiff big time last season, as well as us. You could argue that the cups cost us a play off spot last season.

I can't wait but I think that is more down to the ridiculously long break between seasons this year, not bothered about the cup game as such just the start of the season.

Honestly, no. Never.

All about the league this season. We had some good cup matches, performances and atmospheres last season. And there's no doubt that some of the big-match congestion (Liverpool next to Leeds) contributed to the Palace fiasco, either.

So for many reasons, no.

Why? We`ve made excellent signings, we`ve looked good pre-season and we are a top quality championship side. I know we`ve got a few excellent players out, but try and be a bit more positive for Gawds sake.:lolol: We are CLAAAAASSSSSSS!!

Dunno just think Swindon will do it. Hopefully I'm wrong and we will breeze past them but I still don't think that will be the case, they're a decent team who will totally give us a good game......cue the 6-0 win to the mighty stripes! :D

If Bruno weren't playing I'd be less bothered.

But as I've not seen him yet, his performance is eagerly anticipated, in Stat Towers.

I am EXCITED about tonight's game. I will be watching it from the comfort of my lounge (BAD FAN but working 'til 7pm) and looking forward to Swindon being taught a very public lesson about the finer side of football. By 9pm, I expect to be disappointed and looking into how to delete previous posts on NSC expressing my excitement.

You've not found that delete button yet, then?

It felt like a pre-season match. I'm usually gutted after losing, today I'm just meh!

I wonder what the atmosphere would be like if Palace lost 3-0 and Brighton won 2-1 last night...

This may or may not be in one of the other threads (can't be bothered) but I did hear Claridge in the Radio Five Live commentary saying that Gus would definitely be "under pressure" if they lost to Swindon. That bloke needs putting down in humane fashion. Or even non-humane fashion.

Good grief.

He's definitely "under pressure" to find a decent target man!
