Have we written the play-offs off?

As Jim Royle would say: play-offs my arse!

Not really the point of the thread THPP. I was wondering what Gus' approach will be given that we can pretty much write off a play-off place. Knowing that we can't go up and assuming we can pull away from the relegation zone (theoretical here), then how will Gus use the rest of the season to best effect.

No one here is suggesting that we'll get to the play-offs - exactly the opposite in fact.

Eh? We're in danger of relegation FFS. Best use of the rest of this season is to win enough games to ensure we're not relegated. With a bit of luck, he might have 2 or 3 dead rubbers at the end of the season with which to decide whether he should boot out the handful of borderline players who fit into this category.

And I'd say the thread title suggests that some people feel the play offs have incorrectly been written off. i.e. you. The truth is we haven't got a hope of being within 6 points of the final play off place.

I would hazard a guess that 20th with around 53 points would be the target for this season. Let's face it, there's been very little evidence that we are capable of too much more, and we should therefore consider anything more a bonus.
