After last time we went up we managed to fcuk around all pre season and sign no one, even tho we had players like roberts on trial.
We are doing it again. There are players good enough that are out there who wont be asking for that much at all.
This is now beyond a joke with the season a month away now. We will come away from reading with a massive loss unless we sign players.

I am a mcghee and knight fan bout they need to sort it out now
even more so that we are missing knight and maybe chippy two of our only creative players.

Has it ever occurred to you that McGhee might have a little faith in the players we've got?

I dont think dick realises how lucky we were to bounce back up,
many teams dont and just rot in that league for years or miss out for years

Like i said i do trust mcghee
but how can you say we will do well or stay up when we are in a stronger div 1 than last time with a smaller and weaker team

We've learnt not to give massive contracts to an injured forward and an overweight defender as a panic measure, hopefully.

Maybe we should connect this thread with the debt threads, and try and see a pattern.

I'd rather we're careful than be like Bradford. We're a good bet for a few loan signings, as the loanees would almost certainly get a lot of first team action. I'd hope we can sign one or two players on top of that, but I wouldn't be surprised if we only signed one (non loan) player before September.

Look, McGhee is Scottish, and therefore a natural pessimist. He is the last person to believe the current squad will keep us up. Just because he's got no-one in as of today doesn't mean he isn't spending all his waking hours (plus no doubt many of his non-waking ones) musing on the problem and trying to do something about it.

Keep the faith!

We are short on the striker front, and McGhee has already made it clear that is his priority before he commits to any other positions, even though he has got players lined up in other positions.

A little patience is probably required to make sure we get it right this time round.

We don't have any strikers for the start of the season, I don't suppose that MM is looking any further than this right now.

I personally don't believe that signing players for the sake of it will stregthen the squad. Mark McGhee will have a plan about what he needs and will be trying to find the right new blood to fit around that plan. Im afraid that it's not as simple as signing new players. Those folks who are bitching about us not having signed any new players yet will be the first to moan if we bring someone in who is no good.

And, to be honest, what does Brighton has to offer a decent Division standard player? We are favourites for the drop, we have a pathetic stadium, it can't be easy convincing new players to join on that basis.

But we should be able to convince loan players to join, as what they're interested in is showing what they can do - not the facilities.

But why would they go on loan to us when they have the rest of the division to look at?

I guess that I am just being overly pessimistic
