Great to have some good news. It is a remarkable space but also I heard that they were strapped for cash. Let's hope that the RIBA award will bring lots of visitors to the pier and the area.

A careful perusal of the attached photo will show that it is, in fact, made up of a number of planks (i.e. a long piece of timber, thicker and narrower than a board) so, literally, it is not a plank.

The architecture is amazing. The photograph isn't half bad too, although the photograph might just have been enhanced by the architecture.

Hmm. Plus a restored Victorian building; plus a new building cladded with reclaimed timber from the old pier. Both these buildings have been excluded from the photo shown above. Anyone would think that was deliberate - shirley not!

They won an award for tarting up an old building and making a large shed out of burnt timber Stunning!
