I can see that being true, I think almost every comment thread on that site (not just albion related) gets taken over by a bunch of biggoted morons.

The seaside.
Hasn't he been at war with NSC for years now, eg this extract from a Q&A he did on Argus website last summer:

"Comment From Northstandchat
You say this is your last Q&A session ?? Can you please prmoise us that's the case, because your about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.
1:56

Interesting - and not surprising - that such a childish contribution comes from a tag name of Northstandchat (with due apologies to the more level-headed members of that particular chatroom)."

In the same Q&A he goes on to complain at the music policy at Withdean, the stellar whiner.

Baffled and bemused by fuss my piece re: internet moaners has apparently created. Esp as NSC is not referred to by name #bhafc

This statement actually speaks volumes more than most.

'Baffled' and 'bemused' - that to me says here's someone who still doesn't understand his target audience. As for not mentioning NSC by name - well obviously that's the case, but then not everyone came up the Adur on yesterday's Slow Boat.

Naylor's right. Get over it.

The fact is it's all too easy for people to give opinions some might find "moronic" when it can all be done behind the safety of anonymity. But it's not just NSC, it's all such message boards including the Argus' own. There's just more of on NSC.

isn't one of the reasons for having a fan forum site so like minded fans can discuss and moan about the goings on at their beloved club.

Newspapers/News Sites are for NEWS
Forums/Fan Sites are for the Fans to say what they like about who they like - excluding Ryan Giggs and...ooops super injunction ;)

Naylor needs to get over it and report on NEWS after all he is paid to do so! - if there isn't enough news to go around, then they have over recruited!

Part of Naylor's remit (like all journos in this digital age) is to provoke response from readers and to utilise tools like Twitter, Facebook and other social networking media. His bosses must be rather pleased.

There will always be spiteful and negative people on forums, so he's right to a small extent.
But the majority on NSC and forums of other clubs I feel articulate their opinions very well, on real issues.

The better run clubs like the Albion and the newly run Liverpool listen to the fans.

If true, Naylor's way harks back to the Eastern Bloc sytem of no dissent. Out of touch.

Did he really bother to read the intelligent comments on the teething problems and the praise for the Club?

to be fair, some people do seem to have a vendetta against naylor

Probably the same people who were moaning at Gus when we played Bournemouth at Withers. Professional whiners who think the Albion owe them Barca style football and 5-0 wins every match.

After reading this whole thread, this is the comment that sums it up for me. Yes it was lazy journalism, said nothing of note, deliberately left out names (i.e. NSC) so that he could hide behind the 'Argus comments' defence and he doesn't speak for the club or the fans. Arguing with nothing there.

But above all, he's got EXACTLY the reaction he (and the circulation/web visitor monitoring) 'bosses' would have wanted and may have been designed to achieve. Or not - the main thing was to fill those column inches. However, they probably thought there was a likelihood of a reaction, and lo and behold there was - so much so that they were able to fill even more column inches with a story about NSC closing down.

It's actually a pretty simple piece of work - and clever ONLY in the respect of generating more reader traffic. I doubt he gives a flying toss what we actually think - or the effect on NSC posters of what he says. If he does it goes no further than that day's column. Those 'who, me?' tweets about the Argus comments should tell you all you need to know - he knew that was coming. Our reaction probably only confirms everything he thinks about NSC anyway.

I visited the Argus website, Tweeted and Facebooked about this so I'm as much of a mug as anyone. But should I read anything similarly provocative from him in future I'll do the one thing he doesn't want - and not react on here. Anybody else willing to grit their teeth and bite their tongue*?

*may not be possible at the same time :)

Dear Mr Naylor, we are very sorry for annoying you and we promise not to do it ever again.

PS. I think you are an arrogant prick who fancies himself something rotten, and who I believe, once said that he never reads NSC or takes any notice of it.
So I guess that also makes you a hypocrite.
