I am alarmed by Cullips loss of form and loss of inspiration. He is not the DC of the last 4 years.

Lets hope its a blip and he has not got the " Zamora disease " at the end of last season when it was clear that he did not want to be at Brighton anymore.

We all know DC should be playing in Div 1 and he know that as well, lets hope he has not lost his belief in our football club.

After losing Adams, Taylor and Coppell and all this pratting around with the stadium decision I hope he is not talking to the traiterous scumbag Coppell.

Danny we need you back to your inspirational best.

I think DC is made to look bad by Butters...

Butters makes a mistake (which when the ball is on the floor is quite often) - Cullip is often on hand to clear things up.

Cullip makes a mistake (arguably less on the floor, more in the air) - Butters isnt nearly quick enough to cover.

Ergo, Cullips mistakes seem more costly.

Whatever u say about Cullips form, u cannot for 1 second doubt his loyalty to the club, he was leading the applause last night and literally had to drag the players over to the fans afterwards

A bit like a couple of years ago, when Cullip was made to look better than he is by Simon Morgan?

There just seemed to be no organisation in the defence today, summarised by the fact we conceeded 3 penalties and the second goal was a terrible one to concede, it was like pingball in the penalty box we couldn't even get the bloody ball cleared. I disagree with Faldo, at the moment Butters is making Cullip look bad, because Butters is playing so well and Danny isn't.

Cullip fell out with Peter Taylor - that's why he put in a transfer request. It had nothing to do with him not believing in the club.

I like Cullip a lot, always have. He wears his heart on his sleeve and always gives his all, but ...

I do feel we over-rate the fella. I don't agree that he "should be playing Div 1" as I thought he looked to be struggling a bit last season when facing a cleverer forward than he is used to, and his pace will always get found out at the higher level. Add to that his lack of height to deal with the aerial assualt of the likes of Brian Deane and others.

Overall, he is a no nonsense defender who gives his all and leads the defence very well, but I think Div 2 is his level. Step up to Div 1 and he'll need a very good centre half alongside him. Once Blackwell came in and guided him through like Morgan did previously and he was much better.

Great player for us, but would be surprised if there are a queue of managers looking to sign him in Div 1.

Totally agree with you there Gritt23.

Danny's a great bloke - perfect Albion player and I love 'im.

But his distribution lets him down - if he sorts that then we really should be worried.

Could the current plummet in form be due to the return of Danny Cullip?

I think he is too slow as a central defender for anything other than Division two, mid-Division One. He makes up for his lack of speed because of his reading of the game and anticipation.

I do not think his distribution is too bad, it is better than Charlie Oatway and that's part of Charlie's job. I would replace Charlie Oatway in midfield with Danny Cullip.

I am apt to attempt to buy Zesh instead and if necessary sell Danny Cullip to pay for the new player? If we can't buy Zesh, I would like Danny Cullip in his position, and leave the defending to faster players.

Buy Zesh? Are you totally mad? He has been spectacularly f***ing useless for at least three games and apart from a good game at Rushden and a reasonable game after that-he's been crap.

Cullip's distribution not too bad-compared to what?

OY VAY!

I haven’t seen Cullip play recently (the last being the Wednesday game at Withdean) but Cullip is an Albion legend and indeed probably our best player at present. Even if he is not on form at the moment, but was still one of the best players on Saturday as has been mentioned on here, then Division two had better be ready for when ha does hit form!
