So selling their independence doesn't make them big-hearted Albions fans anymore? Oh dear. What a silly post, Worzel.

Neither of them get paid by the club, and neither of them are employed by the club. Both of them give up their own time free of charge in order to help the Albion out in whatever way they can. That's quite a sell-out.

And whoever wrote that article whether it was DK or one of his lapdogs should hang his head in shame as without Harty's efforts there would not be a club.
Without a lot of people's efforts - including Attila and, even more so, Samrah. Who found out about the Articles of Assocation breach? Who pointed out that the finances of the club under Archer & Bellotti were the joke that they were?

Harty's role in 95/97 was EXTREMELY important, but I think that even he would be embarrassed if you implied that he alone saved the club.

Gulls Eye was the be all and end all, no Gulls Eye then nothing for Samrah to write in
Unlike, say, the Argus, or supplying information for the Telegraph, or The Guardian.

No Samrah = no-one to write this information, everyone in the dark. Come on, Worzel, you can do better than this...

Obviously Lardy you cannot have been around in 95/96 as you would know that the only tool to let us know what was going was Gulls Eye but it's understandable that you don't know this.
Bit difficult for bandwagon jumpers to know a clubs history, I expect you know all about Man U in the 90's though ?

Actually Even Lardier, I was involved when BISA was set up in 1992, and sat in on a fans' meeting with Barry Lloyd, Dennis Sullivan and Greg Stanley. Pile of shite they talked as well. But I don't recall you being there. Oh, and I assume you went to the Gull's Eye benefit gigs as well did you?

Of course there were other things around letting us know what was going other than Gull's Eye. Gary Crittenden's website for one (you did use that?). I seem to recall getting a lot of info of Ceefax and Radio 5. If you believe that the ONLY information we could get was once every two weeks, it's you that clearly wasn't there because how would we have got the information we needed - when we needed it?

I am not dismissing Harty's involvement for a second, that would be ludicrous. But you don't want to give Samrah any credit for his work because... I don't know - you don't understand it?

Like I said, you can do better than this...

Actually even more lardier I was involved when the supporters club was reformed in 1983 but don't remember you there giving up time trying to get a clubhouse or getting involved then which is why the supporters club became a spineless organisation which was up Bellottis arse until he took Costa's free season ticket away.
In 95/96 the only real way to find out news was the Argus and I remember choking on my pint that Friday in July when they revealed the Goldstone had been sold and the Argus, for normal people the internet was nothing in those days so for the real news it was either the Argus and especially the allegedly column in Gulls Eye.
Actually I do give Samrah plenty of credit for what he dug up in those dark days but it's a shame that he sold his independence for a job with the club.
The trouble is that certain people think they're better fan than other people and everyone must like Dick Knight but as I say I support Brighton and Hove Albion not Knighton and Hove Albion and god spare me when DK has long gone I'll still be there where ever we are playing and what ever division we are in

One last thing.............................merry christmas as it's a time of goodwill

What does sold his independence actually mean? Samrah doesn't have a job with the club. Do keep up.

Merry Christmas yourself.

So it's a mirage I see on the pitch then trying to get his mic to work :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

Let's face it you have your point of view and I have mine and in time one of us will be proved right and one of us will be proved wrong and no amount of pedantic point scoring will ever change that

i think Harty's 100% Albion as the genius is just we have differing viewpoints on whats best for the club, i do think though that there are sum things he does agree with FG but for the sake of his pos with SCR he moderates his opinions, fair play to him though he does try to get both sides of an arguement so long as he doesnt filer calls etc then im all for him to continue

The problem is that when someone phones up and says "Dick Knight is a liar and the money from Alive and Kicking is going straight into his pocket", that isn't a point of view - it's a malicious libel. Harty shouldn't deal with it by saying "Well, listeners, what do you think? Let's hear another caller".

He needs to deal with stuff like that in exactly the way he deals with a caller who says "I'm fuckin' pissed off with this afternoon's performance" - cut them off and explain that his phone-in doesn't tolerate that sort of stuff.

Ian isn't a full-time professional broadcaster, of course. But he does sometimes need to show more a bit more professionalism - his army of listeners are entitled to that from the BBC......

I think that the club would be well advised to have a thick skin, and display a tolerance for the opinions or allegations of fans and simply dispel myths as they come along. That anyone thinks there are any dodgy dealings is borne out of past indiscretions - and we WANT people to be wary of the running of things so there WON'T be a recurrence of the Soldstone scandal quite as easily.

There is strength in holding a profile that is sympathetic to shaky faith or mistakes within. In the case of Harty's phone-in, it won't stop people talking if he simply shuts them off for voicing suspicions - it might even exacerbate rumours. Better to get them out in the open, then address them honestly or after some research.

Let's not get weak or wimpy about this, it IS nobler to address the doubts and fears of the fans as they arise.
May the Albion walk through the dark valley and not fear such simple stuff, then unity and pride will be unshakeable when the other side is reached.

In my opinion, turning against the very people who do care (albeit occasionally doubtful or misguided) will weaken the club and distract from the quests we desire. There will be many more questions asked of DK and BHA before we will see the team run out in the new stadium .

:nono: :nono: :nono: , I cant believe some of the crap that has been posted on here.

Harty, is my uncles brother and is albion through and through, why should he not be allowed to voice peoples opinons whether you all agree with them or not. to be honest we would have a a pretty boring lot of fans if all of them agreed with the majority of the likes of NSC. People who question the club or the board are not wrong or traitors they have their opinions and they are entitled to them as much as you are all to yours. It doesnt make them any less of a fan cos they deem to be slagging DK off or questioning the board or finances of the club.

People also forget how well liked Harty is and all he has previously done for the club.

This is a family club so we should seek the truth from our club. I understand why harty was worried like the rest of us. so He a truth seeker pure and simple just trying to find out how big this black hole is or was.
