if cox and harty cant even make the bench ,cook and smith in front of them unless of course there injured then i dont think they will ever play 4 the first team again .

I agree, they probably won't. I think if everyone's honest neither are up to the standard required for next season.

I think that Cox still has something to offer, I would personally rather have him in team than Carole.

As much as I love OGH, I think that his time has come to move on.

Ultimately, I trust GP to make the best decision.

cos wont work in a 4-5-1 as a wide man and he wont get into our central 3 either - get rid

Why not? I'd have thought it would suit him well as he's more an attacking midifelder than an out and out winger. I agree with the sex panther, I think he's got more to offer than Carole. He will obviously never play for us again though, I don't know why, but when you're behind Jamie Smith in the pecking order it's all over. I don't see why Poyet didn't let Millwall take him. I have full faith that Gus will succeed for us but if he wants to get rid of players like Cox, McNulty, and Forster he will need to get better replacements than we currently have, for now he's strengthened the first team but arguably not the squad (other than the central midfield cos before we had no one).

I've seen Smith a few times for the reserves this season and he has looked excellent almost faultless. I know the opposition has been exceptional but I wouldn't feel uncomfortable about him coming into our first team. He deserves his chance

in a 4-5-1 the wide men need to get forward and support the striker, so when you are going forward its effectively a 4-3-3. ive always thought to do this, you need pacey wide players to get up and down the line quickly and offer that support. with there being one central striker as well, getting the ball into the box quickly is important so as to not give the defence time to organise as it is a lot easier to do so than when dealing with two men through the middle

cox relies on skill to beat his man, not pace and so he doesnt get up and down as much. relying on skill also means that it takes longer for him to get past the man and deliver a ball, especially as he seems to insist on always cutting back

just a personal opinion like, but i much prefer the way we are set up at the minute with pace from the wide positions to support murray. caroles selection seems to suggest that gus does too

EXACTLY ....I think Gus probably has more experience in judging players than we have !!!.. AND, im pretty sure he already has one or two lined up for next season, listening to the fans forum tonight !

I really struggle to understand why he is always played on the left. Look at the first goal against Southampton when he was on the right - pace to beat Harding, first time cross. Definitely capable on that side. Won't happen though :(

I think it is safe to say that both will go at the end of the season.

Cox can do a better job than Carole but his attitude off the pitch stinks.

Harty has been absolutely brilliant for this club. Granted, he is not the greatest player we have seen, but has anyone shown more passion for the cause.

Hope we do not get any detrimental remarks on here about Hart.

All the best for the future Harty.

We are building a team to play in the Championship.

Hart and Cox are not up to that standard so will not be in next seasons plans. Hopefully a few more are on the same train out of here.
