Just picked up this mornings Argus and it reports Oh Gary Hart to startwith reid in the bench. Probably the right decision although it seems a shame to drop him as at least he did seem able to create things. Perhaps we will bring him on for Charlie if things begin to go pear shaped.

Good 12 page play off special in it too!

excellent. i will go and buy it shortly.

i think he wants to keep oatway in so we have that battling midfield who can hassle them and stop them playing. and at least if things go pair shaped, we can throw him on!

:clap2: Reid is a good solid player, but Hart is perfect for a match like this!

Also, well done ARSEGAS on a superb play off special!

was wondering if it wasn't better to let Reid run his nuts off for say 50 mins, then bring Hart on to give it all a bit of a sharper finish to the game...........

That's all very well but Reid was a passenger in the Swindon games, and our midfield aren't good enough to do that. Hart is stronger than Reid and will need to make his presence felt if we're not going to get overrun.

I'd rather bring on a fresh Reid with the scores at 1-1 than a fresh Hart with Albion 2 down!

.......... but hart has a nasty habit of getting booked, and in a big game like this and him starting, he could easily accrue two yellows, then we will be buggered.

He better bloody not! I'm more worried about Leon Knights frustration boiling over to be honest. He's up against the best centre back in the division who has had Knight in his pocket twice this season.

I guess knight will get his obligatory booking, either for diving or for a dodgy tackle a la swindon, but the key to get him into he game, is to get City to defend nearer the half way line, if that happens big chris can just flick on for knight to run into that space.

Sadly the two swindon games would have been watched, and they are likely to defend deep, thus bringing the keeper in as a sweeper, giving Knight no time to get onto he ball before either going out of play or going straight into the keepers realm of control.

Piercy is unlucky not to be in there, but Harty deserves his chance. For a team with a weak midfield we seem to have a lot of competition for places ...

OGH deserves this. It's going to 90 or 120 minutes of harum-scarum madness not really suited to Reid's cultured approach.

It's a logical move. Be interesting to see how advanced he plays, then we'll know how adventurous we're going to be. The problem isn't Knight or Iwelumo, but Knight/Iwelumo, so OGH may be crucial if we are going to snatch the vital goal.

To me reid seems to be better in the centre than on
the wing anyway...my guess is he would replace a central
midfielder late on

It's only weak when compared to the other top 4 or 5 sides in the division. And even then, they weren't outplayed by Plymouth or QPR in 4 games this season.

I've concluded that fans always worry about their midfield unless they've got someone like Roy Keane, David Beckham or Zinedine Zidance playing for them.

It's a positive move by McGhee, it's definitely the more attacking option. If oatway is going to retain his starting spot, it doesn't really make much sense to leave Reid out on the wing, he's been very quiet in the last few games.

Harty has really responded to his opportunities in the swindon games, and I think McGhee really appreciates the extrsa effort players make to get into the team, and harty really has been trying to win his place back.

Good move.

Reid is a central midfielder, not a winger, and as a result we always lack width when he starts because he drifts infield.

Shame McGhee is sticking with Oatway as I'd rather see Reid partner Carpenter in the middle but if we're going to sit back and try to hit Bristol on the break then that's probably the way to go.
