Hargreaves ponders Man Utd switch
England and Bayern Munich midfielder Owen Hargreaves, 25, is considering an offer from Manchester United.
"The offer from United is fantastic," Hargreaves, who recently signed a contract extension with Bayern, told German magazine Sport Bild.

"Particularly as an England international, it is of interest and you never know if such an opportunity will arise again."

"Now is the time to take the next step to develop even further."

Hargreaves has spent his entire professional career with Bayern since moving to Germany from Canada in 1997.

At the foot of the downs
I can't quite see (aprt from money) what he will gain, hes winning trophies hand over fist at Bayern, hes established in the England side already and UTD are going backwards at the moment !!!

Indeed - they still have no strikers!

One striker away from champions:clap:
One striker away from being able to compete with Liverpool and Chelsea anyway. :)

True, True.

But Saha, Rooney, Solskjaer and Rossi (who is suppose to be quite good???? ) isn't a bad strikeforce.....certainly not "no strikers" anyhow.

If they get another goalscorer in before the transfer deadline, they will be a force. Although with a midfield of
Giggs Hargreaves Scholes Carrick Ronaldo
They might just play one up front.

None of those will get 20 in a season. Saha, Solskjaer and to a lesser extent Rooney are injury prone, Rossi is unproven.

would think they would just play rooney up front on his own, after all it worked so well at the world cup.

why do i care about united anyway?

Hither (sometimes Thither)
I don't want him to go there as i do think it will hugely strengthen their side, but it'd be a fine move for him. Something other than what he's seen and softly breathed for the past 7 years. Bayern are unchallengeable, mostly, and now Utd need to compete with 3 others.
They can use Scholes at times, but Hargers and Carrick would start with work and newer method, and two wingers flying toward the box without thought.

You don't, but you can have a football opinion.

Scholes just behind him then?

I don't know what Ferguson is thinking, but he's got to have something up his sleeve, or Chelsea and Liverpool will run away with it.

I don't think so. He's very similar to Carrick anyway.

I quite like the idea of that. With two defensive type players in the center, it would be almost like a 4-2-4
