Owen Hargreaves has been ruled out of England's Group B game against Croatia on Monday because of a stomach upset.

The Bayern Munich midfielder played as a substitute in Thursday's win over Switzerland but has not trained since.

Coach Sven-Goran Eriksson told BBC Five Live: "Owen is not very well. I'm almost sure he is not available - he's not eaten for 48 hours."

For the people who are saying good they don't rate him just think of the alternative... Next in line is Miss P. Neville.

Not necessarily true. If Scholes is out then I would play Dyer & Ledley King ahead of Neville. In fact, I would play Ian Walker ahead of Phil Neville

That last bit was well said! :lolol:

I was just getting very worried during the Switzerland game when he seemed to be the player always in view warming up on the sidelines, it really worries me that Sven may use him at some point!

Dyer please P Neville is a feckin liuability . . ..Charloi ???

a shame as I think OH is good, he runs, is very fit and can tackle without getting booked. unlike some other hoofing ginger midfielders I could mention.

Phew... No Miss P. Neville...

England midfielder Owen Hargreaves has recovered from a stomach upset and will be on the bench for Monday's crunch Group B game against Croatia.

Coach Sven-Goran Eriksson ruled the Bayern Munich man out on Sunday after revealing he had not eaten for 48 hours and was "not very well".

But Hargreaves has improved overnight, giving Eriksson a valuable option on the bench in the absence of Nicky Butt.

England need one point from Monday's game to qualify for the quarter-finals.
