Happy Mondays - great band!

Heard Kinky Afro on Radio1 on the way home and got to thinking what a fantastic band the Mondays were. Choons like that and Loose Fit, Step On etc just don't seem to age.

One of my favourite gigs of all time, The Mondays played the event, about 1990.
40 minutes thats all and Shaun Ryder sat down for most of it as he was out of it.
He didn't say a single word between songs, superb.

Superb band.

Bez is a great interview, Richie, but take lots of tapes for Ryder. Let's just say it takes him half an hour to get two words out. I interviewed them both last year and Shaun was very funny, but so so slow. The drugs have really f***ed with his head.

Happy mondays were superb!

I met bez about a year ago he was in a club in town a girl i was with was chatting to him as the night ended and 3 of us ended up staying upstairs with him a couple of hours after it closed sipping champagne with a few joints, the guys funny as f*** his eyes are mad looks like his staring straight through you- but since read in his book (which is a brilliant read) they've been like that since he was born.

told him i was from just outside brighton and he called me a poodle walker for the rest of the night.
