I love German football, the price, the fans, the beer, plus you never see empty seats anywhere!! VFB Stuttgart is the team I look out for, although they did get beaten 6-1 by Bayern Munich yesterday...

It was 10 notes each for terracing for Hannover fans at that game. My Brother in law is a Season ticket holder and did this away game with 3 English buds.

And for you beer guzzling smokers amongst us. You can drink and smoke in th ground as much as you want.

Football the way it should be IMO :)

I once went to VFB against Bayern Munich. 84000 in the ground and a tremendous atmosphere. 2-0 to VFB. It reminded me of Brighton vs Palace but on a much larger scale. Loads of aggro all over the city. And there were huge queues for the pies (actually Germans don't do pies so sausages) and trains.

I went to the Berlin derby last night: 1FC Union against Hertha BSC and the atmosphere pissed over any game I have been to. 3 sides of the ground are terraced and the ground was rammed 45 minutes before KO. I guess this latter point is because you can drink freely in German grounds so no need to go to a pub before hand. And every stand regularly joined in the singing and chanting for sustained periods; rarely see this on such a scale in the UK....if at all. The Union 'fan displays' before the game were amusing as well, poking fun at the Hertha fans. Interestingly the club seem to have installed a scaffolding rig which goes up and down to help with these displays. Excellent stuff.

Same in France too. Me and my lad went to watch Lorient v nancy in the top division last saturday. great game, top players, brilliant atmosphere from the crowd, and it cost us 7 euros each to get in! In that part of the ground you can get a season ticket for 99 euros!
