Had Coppell Stayed...

I believe that, had Coppell stayed, we would have achieved goalless draws at both Bournemouth and Brentford and beaten Stockport 2-0. Those results would have consolidated our position at the top of the league and left us in a perfect position to push on for the title.
I feel that, having "won" the league once this season, we have to "win" it again. I have every confidence that, under Mark McGhee (it seems that he will be taking over), we will do so.
I am disappointed with the players. If they cannot play for themselves then surely they can play for the fans. They surrendered at Brentford and, on Saturday, they gave up Fortress Withdean to a team that had not even come to win it.

You could argue that Dick Knight should have had a new manager in place for both games, certainly by the Stockport game, which could have resulted in some points being picked up.

I'm disappointed but not surprised that it's taking a while to appoint Coppell's replacement; I would have thought that given Knight would have looked into a successor for Coppell over the summer, and that he had the best part of 2 weeks to think about it while Coppell dallied that an appointment should have been made a week or so ago.

However, I understand that's its tough on Knight and I trust him to make the right appointment.

These things do take time though and he can't be rushed into them.
