This is going to be almost as GOLDEN as the Paul Kitson nursery rhymes.

There once was a geezer called Poyet,
Tantrums were best known as his forte,
He moans about money,
Fell out with Glenn Murray,
And now won't even enter our foyer.

There once was a coach called Poyet
Who said some daft things for a bet
it did him no good
he was 'misunderstood'
and now he wants to forget!

We don't have a clue what's going on
We don't have a clue what's going on
We don't have a clue
We don't have a clue
We don't have a clue what's going on

Might need a little work, but the sentiment's there

There was a Uruguayan called Gus,
Who we thought was a geni-us
He was good for a bit,
But now he's a tit
And now we want off his bus!

I'll get my coat........... :(

A lot of NSCers have short short memories.

Irrespective of how the outcome form this unfortunate few weeks actually works out, I still really like Gus. He speaks his mind, plays attractive football and is always entertaining in many ways. Thanks for the great times Gus and if you stay, then thanks for the great times to come.

There was a young manager called Gus
Didn't we love the journey as he drove Tony's shiny new bus
Now the wheels have come off and some passengers are in a huff
But the next driver is just around the corner

This thread is very tongue in cheek don't take it too seriously, just trying to have a laugh in these turbulent times!

As for the limerick, not a classic I'm afraid!!! 👎

There once was a chap called Gustavo
Who was full of flair & bravado
Wore his heart on his sleeve
And now's gonna leave
And will then just be known as Diablo

There was a young manager called 'Radio'
At Brighton, he had it made y'know
But for some unknown reason
At the end of the season
He decided that he couldn't wait to go

At the Amex was a scene of a crime,
'twas more than mere old grime,
Someone thought it was funny,
To do something runny,
It couldn't have been at a worse time!

It could have been Old Charlie,
More likely to be Ryan Harley,
He thought he'd be a hit,
If he did a big shit
But Ian didn't deal with it calmly!

( we could add more verses here!)

A man called Gus was the head
Of us becoming a Man united
It was going so well
Till that dressing room smell
What happened? Ees complicated

I'm hoping its gonna be a classic! Was a slow start but now is gathering a bit of pace! Come on everyone give it a go! Lets try and raise our spirits with a bit of a giggle!

There was a poster called Tony
Who sounded like an old crony

You all boarded the Gus bus
Premiership was surely just on the cusp
You then all turned fickle
When he left you in a pickle
And no more do you trust in Gus .

The man from Montevideo
Joined Brighton when they were down low
He took them from also-ran
To the top of the Champ
Then decided 'twas time for him to go
