I think after all the discussion its about time we put this to the test. I mean I know the club have already decided; and I'm not saying that NSC users are necessarily a representative sample of Albion fans but most people I know are firmly against, so I for one would be interested to know whether I just associate with a group of grumpy old men..

So here's a poll on it. I am in the no camp myself, can't think of anything more embaressing (apart from silly music when we score a goal..) but what does everyone else think?

Apologies if this has been done before (couldn't find it on search) or if my 1st attempt at a poll doesn't come out right!

I am starting to get a complex, some people want me, others would rather my egg had been oiled before I had a chance to hatch out of it...

It will be good in the family stand to keep the kids amused while the action on the pitch is crap, but please do not let him near H block.

He'll be good for the family stand. Anyone watching the rugby with the Warrington Wolf? Even double hard bastard rugby has mascots.

We need to accept change, not stand in the ay of it.

Yeah, I mean it isn't like they are asking us to change our colours...oh hang on a minute, that already happened two seasons ago!

Only if Gully conducts himself in an ironic manner, in the style of, say Harry H Block Potter. In fact Harry Potter may actually BE the best man for the role of Gully. Innit.

LOL! I like the use of the word reintroduction! Over half this board probably never realised that there was an original Gully!

I thought that the original was so bad that he was brilliant, if the new one is anything like that they it will be a hit. However it might be better investing in a load of Ken Dodd impersonators with tickling sticks, anything to liven up some of the motionless stiffs at Withdean (and before anyone gives me grief, I don't mean the players).

Am I shattering illusions for you if I tell you that Gully mark 1 was a girl?
It was Alison (a girl from the club shop at the time...)... nice friendly girl, with a pierced nose.. I think she smoked roll-ups though which for some reason was a bit disconcerting for me as a child.. I might be wrong though!... bless her.. she gave me a free hat and a free camera!

Oh, that is shattering the illusion somewhat. I was thinking of volunteering to play the part of Gully, don't know if they have found someone already, at least you would get into the games for free and it would be pretty warm in that suit in the winter. The closest I have come is dressing up as a goose, not sure if that is above or below a seagull in the pecking order, so to speak!

Unfortunately they have already found someone - he was in The Argus a couple of days ago. His experiences include being a redcoat at Butlins - can you match that!?

Sadly not, but I have watched quite a few episodes of Hi-Di-Hi if that helps.
