Tonight, I had a little bit of an episode. Unable to breathe, pins and needles in my arms, and feeling like someone was stamping on my chest, I reluctantly called myself an ambulance. Turns out that I have a nasty chest infection, but that said, they treated me at first for Angina and game me some GTN Spray.

I'd never heard of this stuff before but MY GOD it's amazing stuff!!! Opened my chest up a treat. Odd side effect though is it works a bit like Poppers and within 5 minutes I was sat, off my face, with a my temples throbbing!!!

Anyway, what got me thinking was this: It's basic principle is to open up all the blood vessels in your body. I'm just curious to ask any medical people amongst us, isn't this a bit of a cure all? And if not, why not? Surely, with more blood pumping to, say, your spine, it could cure backache?? or any sort of ache and pain?

Please do bear in mind that I'm writing this at 4:30, after a rough night, so if it makes no sense, don't blame me, blame West Sussex PCT!!!

i carry a gtn spray all the time due to my heart attack it really works well. If i over exert myself a quick spray lowers the blood pressure taking strain off the heart, i am one of the lucky ones i don't get the headache it is godsend removes the worry of having another heart attack and the pain goes almost at once

Its brilliant stuff, always carry it around with me after heart attack last year, and thankfully have only had to use it on the odd occasion. Leaves me with a strange headache but does the trick and the pain and increased heart rate decreases within minutes.

lol, while meant sincerely, that reads like you've decided to ignore his question because he's clearly mad and you hope he gets better soon

Sounds like fun, wouldn't mind a go on that!

Can you get it over the counter?

Apparently so!!! Mrs is picking some up for me as we speak!!!

Allegedly - and I say that because other than last night I have no other symptoms - I have an a chest infection. It was a bit of a concern last night - especially given the fact that I'm only 30, but we're going to get some of this stuff, purely to help if it happens again. Another potential cause was the fact that I was using oven cleaner about an hour or so before it happened, so I might have had a reaction to that.
