"Additional products planned for fiscal 2005 from Rockstar Games include Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for PC in the third quarter"

This time next year though, useless twats cant even make a game multi-platform within a couple months

Bugger the PC version, just bring it on for the PS2.
Hope Ray Liotta is still doing the voice for it.

GTA:SA is written to make full use of all three CPU's in the PS/2. The graphics unit and the main processor are similar to the PC architechturally wise, but GTA uses the Emotion Engine to a serious level. The PC hasn't got one. Hence that code needs to be chucked and rewritten *completely*. Porting the game would take a month from start to finish, but rewriting all the EE's code would take longer.

Hope with the extra delay thay are gonna properly look into 'net play this time round? that would be awesome and its very much needed.
I did see some sort of GTA port of one of the older ones that used 'net play to a certain degree but hav'nt followed up on that in ages.

GTA 1, by DMA and not RockStar, did have IPX network play, at least the builds I have did.

Even better, its legal abandonware (RockStar have said its OK to distribute the full game free) and it runs on 2K/XP

Still have the odd two player with a mate of mine.

Can't wait. Pre-order here at a bargain San Andreas .
I don't think Ray Liotta will be doing the voice because it's a different character.

DMA is Rockstar (North).

I knew that, but my post was emphasising that the game wasn't going to have a Rockstar logo on the box..

Rockstar are owned by Take2, right?

I always had the assumption that Take2 were one of those companies that distributes "classics" CD's.... At least I've got some old "Take2 Second Chance" CD's around with old games (for the time, now antique games) on them.
