Music for bedwetters really but classic break up songs / albums nevertheless...now there's an idea for a thread (favourite break up songs / albums that is - not bed wetting...)

I think these music threads seem to take up a large proportion of my life. Idyllwild makes my wife depressed, but I like it.

I agree with Talk talk, massively underrated in my opinion but still a good showing on here. There were a few 80's synth pop gems before the "colour of Spring" album, which was a masterpiece, came out. I wondered how that could be followed but was literally blown away by "spirit of Eden" which took music to a different level for me. Classified as rock i believe at the time but almost in a genre of it's own. Mark Hollis was a genius but they were dropped by EMI and the following album "Laughing Stock" was not a commercial success. Unfortunately their style of music was now not really suitable for live shows as Hollis believed the gaps in sound were as important as the music and in his opinion clapping, cheering etc actually ruined his songs, anyway the band broke up and that was that. Mark Hollis did record a solo album (self titled) and then pretty much quit music :(
