Didn’t watch today but he is the cliched fine wine, he is getting better every season. He never had pace so isn’t losing that but seems to get more intelligent every year. He’s a far superior player now to the one we signed.

Many - prob including myself weren’t convinced he could offer more around that time - delighted to be proved wrong. He’s one of those machines that lets the flair players shine.

Exactly - and back then, and often still now, many of us, when speculating on 'Team for xxxxx' come up with 11 players - that don't include Gross. Yet managers (and even head coaches!) keep picking him!
