How bad a miss has Pascal Gross been this season? Have we already filled the gap or do we need to find another midfield mastermind for next season? Thoughts...

Indeed. The assists have been more spread throughout the team this season. However the highest is Pedro with 6 and then Gruda, Minteh, Mitoma, Welbeck and Weiffer have 4 each, totalling 26 assists between those players. One of those plays naturally at "10" (Gruda) and Pedro was often asked to. The rest look like they've come from out wide, central, attack and midfield.

The threat is more spread and therefore harder for opposition coaches to shut down.

I don't have any issues with how we've attacked this season. It's how we've defended that occasionally drives me potty. However, obviously if we defended deeper we'd have fewer of the goals and assists I've enjoyed.

There's some fine tuning to be done and it's mostly defensively, but we've not missed Gross.

Yes, there is some fine tuning that needs to be done at the back. I'm hoping against hope we will at least be playing just defenders at the back rather converted midfielders with a bit more continuity which would help. Excited by the Boscagli signing, if we can add FB depth this offseason I'll be over the moon!

Agreed.
We need a quick CB and proper RB or LB.

We have, but there were several games this season while struggling for a spark of creativity or a mega ball into the box where I've turned to the Bobkin Jnrs and said I wished we had Pascal there.

Still the right move for him, though. I'm delighted he's had such an impact. What a guy

Pascal is a fabulous player and probably person. I'm pleased he had a great season back on home ground. But miss him, frankly I never gave him a second thought.
