I've just received a text from a Greek mate. It's a considered, articulate, eloquent commentary on the achievement of his team that reads: "Suck my big fat one." I'd like to point out that - if its not being over-defensive - that this shows more his current state of hysteria than any more meaningful relationship.

Suspect my Portugal bets @ prices from 7/1 to 11/1 (just before the Spain match) might well have gone the same way, if I hadn't chickened ouit and gone each way.
Still, me bets on the blessed Maria Sharapova to win the ladies @ Wimbledon and Shell to win BB5 are looking WELL sound
Oh well, my 100-1 on Baros being top scorer and Czechs winning took a tumble. As did my separate bet on Czechs winning. I blame Gareth Glover for backing them.
Still, my £5 each way on Greece at 50-1 will make it a bit easier to take.
King Otto has worked wonders with that team. It's interesting that both finalists are coached by foreigners, something for those people who want England to be coached by an Englishmen might like to think about.

They deserved it in the end work rate in extra time was unbelieveable. Sensational goal and win. SOmething to bring the tournament alive again. Before the game I would have prefered a Portugal V Czech final but I had to admit to siding with the Greeks as the game went on.
When the goal went in, I punched the air with a "Yes, get in there!"
I'm delighted that there are two new sides are in the final. It was great watching that blue mass celebrate in the ground. (reminded me of a few weeks ago in a certain Welsh city).

Shouldn't the fact that Greece have made the final make Sven fans question their belief that he is the right man

Anyone here the commentator (townsend I think) say when the keeper came right out and lost sight of ball after slightly clearing it...

I had a right old grizzle when I pulled Greece out of the hat in the office sweepstake (specially as it was only them and Holland left in there when it came to my turn).
