I probably have more albums for this decade than any other

In chronological order
What's Going On - Marvin Gaye
Tago Mago - Can
Roxy Music - Roxy Music
Innervisions - Stevie Wonder
Live - Bob Marley and the Wailers
Horses - Patti Smith
Trans-Europe Express - Kraftwerk
Low - David Bowie
Marquee Moon - Television
London's Calling - The Clash

I've included one by each artist. And I've still managed to miss out some great albums. It was a fabulous decade

1).The Who - Quadraphenia
2).Meat Loaf - Bat out of Hell
3).Genesis - Nursery Crymes
4).Sandy Denny - North Star Grassmen and the Ravens
5).Peter Hamill - Pawn Hearts
6).Velvet Underground - Loaded
7).The Adverts - Crossing the Red Sea with The Adverts
8).Joe Jackson - I'm the Man
9).The Damned - Machine Gun Etiquette
10).Paul Kantner and Grace Slick - Sunfighter

plus honourable mentions for Led Zep IV, Dire Straits first album and Supertramp - Indelibly Stamped. Although I bought quite a lot of the albums listed on the 'Best albums f the 80s' thread, I'd find it much harder to find ten that I even vaguely like these days!

Stiff Little Fingers - Inflammable Material
The Undertones - The Undertones
Buzzcocks - Another Music in a Different Kitchen, and Love Bites.l

Steely Dan - Pretzel Logic
Steely Dan - Aja
Steely Dan - The Royal Scam
Wire - Pink Flag
Big Star - #1 Record
Grateful Dead - American Beauty
The Soft Boys - A Can of Bees
Todd Rundgren - Something/Anything?
Talking Heads - More Songs About Buildings and Food

Could've included any Steely Dan album released in the 70s in fairness, they're all brilliant.

As soon as I'd finished my previous list I immediately thought of Something/Anything, Pink Flag and Big Star's Radio City.

I'd also add David Ackle's American Gothic to my list. And Ieft out anything by Parliament/Funkadelic. Just how many great records were there?

Critics rave about Steely Dan. I've got mates who rave about Steely Dan but I've never understood the hype.
