It has been shown that Graham Barratt is a winger and not a centre forward, hence the fact that Cov play him on the wing.

Lammy said:But that's not where he played for us. I was crying out for Hart as Currie was having a shocker. He had a stonker against Coventry and I will admit I'm wrong so long as we see more of that kind of performance rather than the other!
Uncle Buck said:But then why did we play him up front when it was obvious he was not a striker. He did his best out of position for us.
Lammy said:Right up until his gesture to the crowd I didn't think he was a wanker either. I just thought he was a very poor goal scorer that you couldn't fault or effort. Of course he is going to get stick from the crowd, he only scored one goal for us after playing an entire season up front! Coventry are the opposition and are there to be wound up. It's not like he's and Albion legend or anything.
The rest of the team were celebrating together when Barrett turned around to J/H block and bunched his fist in the air whilst shouting someting at us (couldn't hear what). It is this unprofessionalism that means he is a wanker in my book. To my knowledge he wasn't booed until this moment.

To be honest, if I was him I would have run right up to our block, pulled a moon, with kiss my ass written in big black letters across my ass. I then would have done two somersaults, turned to J block, done a few pelvic thrusts in our direction and then revealed a t-shirt (which I had put on at half time after all the abuse I got in the first half) which said 'brighton fans are faggots and the women are rough'.
Graham Barrett ALWAYS put in the effort for us. He wasn't very good, but you can't ask for anything more than 100% effort which is what he gave. If he had scored that lob at home to Palace he would be a hero.
I could not believe people were having a go at him. It seemed I was the only one not hurling abuse and booing every time he got the ball in the first half.
There are some very misguided people who go and watch Brighton. I was really disspointed. I presume they were the same people booing Rougier at Cardiff. Mindless.
I think Barrett should be congratulated on not giving it large more when they scored, I certainly would have. He did nothing to deserve the abuse he was given.

Lammy said:I was sitting in H block and was fully aware of the 'abuse' he was getting. It was nothing really. He certainly wasn't being booed in the first half!
Lammy said:
Being called a Brighton reject and having his ability to put the ball in the net does not warrent mouthing off at the fans.
Lammy said:
He is supposed to be a professional and must get stick at every away game he plays.
Lammy said:
I'm not mortified by his responce but I think he thotoughly desreved the abuse he got after the goal. He brought it on himself.
yes, sorry, poor grammar from me.Lammy said:
That doesn't make sense? I assume you mean yes he was?
It is an abbreviation of centimetres. As in, a couple of centimetres lower and Barrett's lob would have gone in against Palace and he would be one of YOUR favourite players of the Withdean era.Lammy said:
What does cms mean?
Fair point.Lammy said:
If you play 28 games as a striker and score 1 goal, you are crap.
But I would not boo you when you came back and played for the opposition. Would you expect me to boo you?Lammy said:
I could go out there and put in 100% every game and I'd still be crap.
I take it you have never moaned about a striker (let's Leon Knight for an example) being a bit lazy then?Lammy said:
A striker's job is to score goals. I don't care if he sat on his arse in the centre cirlce making daisy chains, if he scores goals he is good.
Do you boo every former player we have ever had then?Lammy said:
I expect he will when he goes back to any other former club. At the moment he only has two. Arsenal and Us. Arsenal won't even know who he is?!? He has a lot to learn.
sorry, I misread your post.Lammy said:
I'm sorry I believe I said I am not mortified.
What?!Lammy said:
I will be looking out for you to be giving McGleish a round of applause next time will play him (if). What he did only took a couple of seconds too you know!
Lammy said:He was not booed before his gesture to the crowd. He was getting some stick by some mis-guided fans but nothing much. Brighton reject etc...
I would not boo an ex-Albion player as a matter of routine. Indeed I didn't boo Barrett until he gestured the crowd.
I can't believe he has become such a great player that always gave 100% in everyones eyes. He came to Brighton to do a job on loan (he wasn't even out player) and faile miserably! He was always going to get a bit of stick. I can't believe he was suprised by this or got upset by it enough to risk getting booked after they scored. Surprise surprise he didn't even score it!
