Final Rant.

I know it was only two games, but i am more concerned at 1. lack of committment and 2. lack of anything at all.

Rougier ran that game last night and made Mayo and Jones look like ponies. ( sheep in Jones's case)

I am not panicking at all, I see what I see, I what I saw last night appauled me.

Lets face it, 4-0, they missed a penalty, had a goal disallowed ( for handball!!!!!!!! when it hit his stomach) and Kuipers made 2 world class saves. If they scored 8. I would not have been surprised.

BUT I AM STILL OF THE OPINION THAT THE BOARD DO NOT CARE A JOT ABOUT THE PLAYING SIDE OF THE CLUB AS THE BE AND END ALL IS FALMER AND WE CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY 2ND DIVI WAGES LET ALONE FIRST DIVI WAGES IF WE GO UP.

That is my humble opinion and I stick by it. If I am proved wrong and when the manager comes in he suddenly has a million pounds at his disposal then I will hold my hand up and accept it, but until them I believe once the Flamer thing is accepted in January, money will be even tighter as we will have to fund Falmer.

Roll on 2008 when we have some money to spend on the team

Just one small hole in that viewpoint Dave. We didn't have the smallest players budget in the First division nor do we in the Second.

It was stated that the money available was for wages not for purchases. We have brought in two quality players this season Ben Roberts and Leon Knight.

I agree we need a new manager and I believe there will be money available for other players.

Yes we've had setbacks but we've had worse and we'll be ok in the long run

You should know we cannot progress at all until Falmer is beaten.
I would happily watch us lose every week until Falmer is approved. We know the reason why our managers walk away from us, why we can't attract players etc.

The playing side depend on a decent stadium to play in.

Personally I think we'll get someone reasonably competent in and he'll steady the ship. However, I also think we can forget the championship because Coppell was getting the maximum out of these players. I reckon we're looking at the play-off lottery and a top 6 finish.

I don't agree about the league, Simster.

Last time we played Brentford they took 6 points off of us ( and the 4-0 defeat was in front of the tv cameras)

I know looking back over 2 years we tend to remember the good times rather than the bad times but we did have some dire games then too.

This particular week we were 6 points off the lead and had been beaten by Brentford at home.

We still have an unbeaten home record (unbeaten since April)

First Division Rotherham don't have Falmer - they drew away at recent Premiership boys Sunderland last night; First Division Crewe don't have Falmer - they won at home last night; First Division Wimbledon don't have Falmer - they beat recent Premiership boys West Brom away last night; First Division Gillingham don't have Falmer....... These clubs will never have Falmer or big grounds/crowds and they just have to get on with it. What they do have is astute managers. They are our example and we don't have to tread water for four years until Falmer is built so why don't people change the friggin' record?

The difference is that they play in places that they own and that actually look like a football ground; they aren't shelling out most of their restricted weekly takings to a bunch of parasites renting them their grounds; they get to keep the majority of the proceeds from match-day catering;

Falmer has to be our number one priority-otherwise we're either going to cease to exist or at best be a permanent resident in the bum-end of the football league.

Not sure DK would want us to get promoted at all. We couldnt survive at the higher level before, basically with the current playing squad , so whats changed ? thers no more money available. Mid table obscurity for the next 4 years id probably what he wants.

Well said Brian. We don't even own that pathetic dump of a ground and it's often overlooked just how much we get fleeced by a group of licenced French bandits. We don't even get the money from the Hot Dog concession!

I'm with Chappers. If someone said "Ok you'll definitely be playing in Falmer by 2006/7 but you'll be back in the 3rd" - I'll take it. Promotion and Relegation mean nothing and paying 1st division wages could even hold us back. At the moment we're actually defying the odds by doing as well as we are.
