Goodbye to to the Dandy

8,000 copies a week, compared to 2 million a few years back. The dandy is now going to stop publishing in print. Whilst I preferred the Beano, I guess this is going to push up sales of final copy a lot.

Never liked the Dandy. I was always a Beano boy and the occasional Whizzer and Chips.

I'd always buy the Beano, unless the Dandy had a better sweet sellotaped to the front, then I would make an exception.

Desperate Dan and Bananaman are the only two characters I can think of from the Dandy, whereas I could probably name about 30 Beano strips.

Tiger to begin with, then Roy got his own comic.

I used to get both with my pocket money every saturday. I'd read Roy of the Rovers first, my dad read Tiger while having his morning shit.

I think quite a few strips from failed comics were shipped over to The Beano/Dandy over the years, Beezer, Topper etc. I could be wrong.
