I hear that he has had his contract paid up, and has left the club.
This gives him a chance to find a new club without going on loan

If its true, he has been a great servant to the club, and was a great part of the championship winning sides

I still think he can do a job with a decent run in the side.

If true a very sad day...He's been a fcuking hero!

Bearing in mind him and Leon Knight were alledged to have had a fairly heated bust up on the training ground about 3 years ago, that could be fun...

Hardly unusual that though is it - Leon the Newt could have an argument in an empty phone box.

Even great servants have to be let go at some point. Some may argue that hes been kept on longer than he should have been anyway due to sentimental reasons. You cant run a club or business on sentiment and theres some tough decisions to be taken about a few others whose contracts have been influenced in this way.

Injury and age caught up with him last year but In his day he was quality, could tackle, shot and pass. One of my favourite players in his pomp.

Agreed, an excellent servant and at his best an excellent player.

Thanks for everything Chippy.

If true, I will always remember that free kick against Spurs against Englands No. 1. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

i have this on my phone from the 2nd row behind the goal :D

His best moment was at home last season (i think against luton) it was chucking down, the ball was loose in the centre circle, and he slid in from about 10 yards away, took out 2 players, and ran away with the ball, as the 2 players lay in the withdean mud :clap2:
