Typical Everton coming under pressure in the last 10 mins in their last game at goodison from the worst team in PL history

I've always viewed it as one of the worst stadia in the league. Poor views and was falling apart. But liked the location and the decent fans. Hope the new stadium maintains the positives
This. Definitely time to move on. I'd also knock Goodison down a build a more compact, but modern, stadium for the women's team.

£104 million is a drop in the bucket for Liverpool, I still very much doubt if they will be there in 5 years time.

Same for Old Trafford of course.
I can absolutely guarantee they will be kicking off at Anfield in August 2030. They've invested heavily in expanding the stadium to 62k over the last few years, they're not going through all that upheaval just to bin it off tomorrow. And even if they did, how long do you think it would take to (a) identify a site and get planning permission, and (b) actually build the thing ? All within 5 years ? Behave.

As an aside, I think Anfield looks a right mess now.

A hotchpotch of different sized stands, looking like they've all been thrown together from different stadiums. Shonky.

It really was textbook Everton to finish up with such a dull game. Ideally, you want a last minute winner to make somebody a hero forever, or alternatively a five or six goal win to get the crowd on their feet.

Instead, it’s a routine and monumentally uneventful 2-0 win over one of the worst teams the PL has ever seen. That’s just Everton and Moyes in a nutshell. And I like Moyes: comes across as one of the good guys, but my god his teams are like watching paint dry.

Goodison was one of my favourite away days. All the benefit of a long train journey and great pub in a city I like but without a trainload of plastic wankers to deal with both ways. And I’ve never seen us lose there.

I wondered if I’d be cynical about today but, as a football fan, you have to be impressed with the atmosphere.
It was something else - As you all know, it's super emotional leaving an old stadium..... I think they'll be a team to watch out for now.

Never seen us lose there? hardly surprising as until fifteen years ago we had hardly ever played them.

Will be a sad day for Mrs Jakarta's cousin, he has been an Everton supporter for over 50 years, following in the footsteps of his Dad.

He was a Season Ticket holder for many years and managed to get one for today.

I reckon Anfield will be next...
Maybe he should start watching women’s football if he’s so attached to the stadium.

I love that sort of thing, gives a ground a sense of history and character even though the individual stands are all pretty modern.

And yeah, the idea that they'll be moving out in the next 5 years or so is bonkers.

I was there yesterday and while it was one of the worse games of football I've seen, the day itself was brilliant.

Atmosphere around the ground was like nothing i've seen before and while the after match stuff was a bit tacky and unorganised, there were some great moments dotted throughout. At times was hard to see the pitch due to amount of blue smoke drifitng from the copious amounts of flares being set off consistently throughout the game.

Definitely one I won't be forgetting
