I had missed this but if your train is delayed or cancelled meaning
you miss the game or arrive very late as well as delay repair you are now able to claim for consquential loss. This will include the cost of your match ticket.

where did you get this impression from? article doesnt actually mention this, and seems based on Which?'s interpretation of the law extending beyond the ticket.
