Good Grace in Defeat and Victory

Now we know what Swindon must have felt like it is bloomin diificult to deal with defeat when you have been so close, and to deal with victory in a magnaminous manner when emotions are running to high.

So Vieira can eff right off when he talks about England players fouling and cheating. Henry can eff off as well, as can that bald git at the back. In fact they can all eff right off - singing La Mareilles in the dressing room afterwards ? I hope that is the last chance they get to sing this tournament.

Exempted from the above is Zinadine Zidane. Who not only is the best player in the world, able to perform in the biggest games, at the highest level, but is modesty itself. Respect to Zinadine.

As for England, they appear to have dealt with it well, including the manager, and to be honest, the fans at the ground.

Will we get a chance to stuff the frogs in the final ? I can't see how we can mentally recover from this before Thursday. I still feel shattered when I think about it. I hope we do recover, but it wouldn't surprise me at this moment if we lost.

Wise words regarding Vieira. A shockingly graceless attitude to very luck victory if you ask me and I couldn't believe it when I read that in the papers.

I can only think Vieira was watching a differnt game then he was playing in. Unless of course that tight marking and not letting the other team have any space is now called cheating. Isn't that the same game that Arsenal have been playing all season?

I was thinking that myself and even how some of the Arsenal supporters will react will be interesting to see.

Presumably the Patrick Vieira who complained about England cheating by constantly fouling the poor French superstars isn't the same Patrick Vieira who has averaged something like 11 yellow and 2 red cards per season for the past few years at Arsenal?

The worst thing at the ground was the way Henry reacted after the Frogs scored, he went out of his way to wind up the English fans cupping his ears and give it the general come on.

I know they were singing thiery henry youre having a laugh but he should know better. This is the country he lives in and a good proportion of those in the crowd were probably gooners. Personally Id never let him back in the country.

So why shouldn't the French sing Le Marseille and be over joyed at pulling off a win against all the odds? Bet the albion players all sloped off for a quiet cocoa after the Swindon game :nono:

Pires was targetted by Cole about three times. It may not be English stiff upper lip to moan, but these Johhny Foreigners have always done it. Doesn't mean it never happened though :jester:

Good idea! The statement about not letting him back in was tongue in cheek btw.

And I think that if Beckham had any shred of decency he would invest his countless millions into time travel and go back and make sure he didn't miss that penalty.

A good point by Icy though as there were chants of 'are you scotland in disguise' and 'Barthez, Barthez what's the score' when we were a commanding 1-0 up.

I was Calais on Saturday and of course I was in the Carrefour chatting about the forthcoming game with the guy selling the wine, when some gobby twat with a midlands accent came over, and started talking over us about how England were going to win because they had Barthez so he's worth a goal's head start to the English.

Stupid clown.
