I watched this the other day. And to my astonishment, realised I'd never seen it before.
Very much a "different times" sort of movie, isn't it, and arguably the most Austin Powers of any Bond film, along with The Man With The Golden Gun.

When I read the books in the early 80s I didn't notice the chauvinism, sexism and whatnot, so I guess, burn Fleming, burn me
Fleming really was a man of his time. I'm not one for using the lens of today to judge the past.
But if you ever catch me using the word 'romp', shoot me.

You say Fleming was a man of his time, but was it unusual for a secret agent like Bond to have casual relationships? Fleming himself did.

If they ever do a series of reboots, on the back of the franchise sale, will they rename Pussy?

I'm not raising an eyebrow at the casual.
As for Fleming himself, I have been ploughing through Nicholas Shakespear's biography and Fleming comes across as a rather shallow and unpleasant man who offset his natural charm with needless cruelty.
