Off to the tennis tomorrow, got centre court tickets, I wondered if anyone has been & can offer any advice what to do/visit when inside outside etc etc...
(I of course mean the time we arent going to be in centre court before anyone just answers "watch the tennis") :amex:

Week one is excellent, get there early and you can watch anything on the outside courts, be quite a few big players still off the show courts. Centre Court tickets mean if it rains at least you will still see the tennis. The wimbledon site gives the order of play about 9pm or just after for the following day so print it out to see who is playing where.

Do be prepared for loads of middle-aged muppets in horrible Union Jack themed tat because they think Murray appreciates their support.
Do look forward to someone shouting "Come on Tim" in a hilarious fashion.
Don't expect to get much change from a tenner for a cup of Pimms.
Don't expect to be able to move ANYWHERE on the site without it taking hours due to the sheer mass of people they allow in on ground tickets.
Don't stand up at every change of ends - it's for wankers who want to be seen but use the pretense of liking to stretch their legs - because of course when they are, for example, out driving, they stop the car every 5 minutes to get out for a wander.

Oh and if you ask a steward for the directions expect to be sent the longest route possible to wherever you want to go in a snooty voice.

Do stand up if you are watching your 2nd 5 set match in a row otherwise you will never be able to move again, do park in St Marys Church at the top of the hill and buy their buns etc & enjoy the strawberries

Went there yesterday and queued from 6am to 10am, hellish. Bagged some court 2 tickets which are some of the best at this stage of the tournament and saw Tomic, Williams, Del Potro and Ferrer on court 18. I recommend not to buy food in the grounds and the pimms is very expensive. Since you've already got centre court tickets you're in a good position but anyone who hasn't I'd say hang around late evening and ask politely if you can go in until someone claims their seat. Sometimes they let you in - it's worth a try.

Just go with the flow - wander about when the grounds open and before play starts. See what's going on. Look at the courts, where the shop and food-court is, and sit on the hill for a rest (or a sleep!).

Play on centre won't start until about an hour after the outside courts anyway, so there's no rush.

Enjoy!

Its a great day out. Take your own food in because it is largely horrible and expensive on site. Wander round and see the outside courts and enjoy being at one of the worlds premier sporting events.

Have a great day, been twice into centre court past two years and seen great games.

Train to Croydon and tram to Wimbledon really easy make sure you swipe in and out if using oyster card. Then jump in a taxi they fill them quickly and it's about 2-3 pound each.

Get their early and catch outside court game, take food as its a hassle to leave once your in place.

If you are in the open have sun cream and hat.

If you are an HSBC customer show your card at the on site stall to get free strawberries and cream voucher.

Have a great day.
