I had 4 people sat close to me who were really excited that they'd managed to get tickets to the game. Genuine supporters who cant afford to come to the Amex.
Sadly they were split into two couples. Don't worry I said, after KO you'll have the pick of the best seats and be able to move.
Initially they didn't believe me but 5 minutes in they moved to 4 seats together.
I bet that’s where their excitement ended

There was actually. Looking across from the East Upper to the Lower West and there were hundreds of empty seats right from kick-off.
'Hundreds of empty seats right from kick-off' in just one stand does not translate into 'really poor turnout'.
It was by no means our best turnout this season, but wasn't significantly lower than any evening kick-off.

It was noticeably emptier than most midweek games. Unless I imagined it.
It may well be from the ESU but the point that I was making was to challenge the claim that it was a 'really poor turnout' (which is what you responded to). From the WSU, where you can see the east, north and (our bit of) the south stands, it looked a little lower than usual for a midweek game but not significantly so.

How many STHs manage to get to every home game it covers? Got to be at least half, so amongst the rest that means an average of at least FOUR games are missed per season. Lumping half those missed games amongst the ever-present to engineer a totally artificial average for the rest is absolutely GUARANTEED to invite disparaging comments from them!
An average isn’t an ‘artificial average’. It’s an average - that’s what an ‘average’ is 🤷‍♂️

And to be honest, I think your suggestion that at least half of all STHs make every game, is miles wide of the mark.

Well said ! Drove up from Dorset (my choice to live there) on Saturday, decided against coming up tonight due to roadworks and driving back late, so put my ticket on the Exchange, along with another few thousands..........if the people who moan about STHs like me not turning up, ask yourselves why are there so many tickets not being taken up on the Exchange ?
Honestly, you made a wise choice. Even just the chunk of your journey that we did, was horrific. 2 hours from Southampton to Lancing, then another hour from there to the Amex.

Then two hours back from Lancing, with the A27 closed by a crash at Sompting, and down to a single lane at Portsmouth and at Hedge End for a laugh.
