This man is truly a miracle worker. Under him we have won promotion to the Championship & stayed there. We have also sold Cullip, Currie, Harding & Virgo for a combined fee of between 2.5 & 4 million pounds. And all he's spent is 100k on CKR.

Dick Knight saved the Albion after the lunacy of the Archer years, but is there another manager in our clubs history who can honestly say he's kept this club afloat like the whisky drinker has?

Top Man...prepared to take the blame when it goes wrong and no bullshit when interviewed
Was worried when he was appointed but keeping us in the championship on bugger all was beyond belief..should have been manager of the season

I met him at that Racecourse Dinner thing and he did seem like a lovely man.

Plus he LOVES going out on the piss which is always good.

I agree completely. It will be interesting to see how he spends any money he receives as he has hardly spent anything yet. I trust him with the money more than other managers we have had and will get value for money.

I have to say, of all the managers I have seen the Albion play under, he would probably be top of the list now. Uncertain, though optimistic when he joined, but slowly gaining himself legend status with the club.

Here's to another enjoyable season, whatever it brings!:drink:

Not always totally agreed with his tactics but the way his able to raise money and keep us in the division when really we should be no-where is a credit to him and he must rank as a top man

I have to agree with the nice bloke, great on the transfer market, got us up, kept us up etc etc etc . . .but I don't find the football we play attractive. having said that I don't think he has a choice at present . . .maybe that will come with Falmer

Given all those constraints McGhee has done a quite extraordinary job getting and keeping us up with a side that plays a good deal above the sum of its parts. And you wouldn't back against him doing the same this season, though that would be another incredible achievement.

I fear that pedigree will not have gone unnoticed elsewhere, and when the usual round of 'big-club' Championship sides/struggling Premiership sides start sacking their managers this autumn we will all be going through the usual nervy process of hoping he is overlooked on shortlists.

It is impossible to run a professional football club without the odd transfer hiccup, and Molango is one, but that could still turn out OK if the lad gets and takes a chance. And though I agree with Zeff about some of the football, I cut MM some slack for that, he's using what he's got/can afford for now.

Personally I couldn't give a rat's ass whether he's a nice bloke or not as long as he's a good manager - but those who have met him informally all say he's very pleasant company, which is an added bonus.

I hope we can keep hold of him.

I fear that the sale of Virgo may open the door for Scottish clubs to raid the Albion in the future, with Mark McGhee included as a future target.
