He's the best player in our team in both boxes and works his nuts off every game....travesty that he wasn't player of the season (in my opinion), and I think that his imminent looking departure may have had something to do with it.

I'll be gutted if he goes, we're not the same team without him.

Maybe not this season, but I am sure we will be next season with a bigger budget.

Yes, but take Murray out of our team and we look far weaker. Take El-Abd out and we deal with it. Take Greer out and El-Abd has been all at sea.

I'n not disputing that El-Abd has been immense, but without Murray, put simply we would NOT be champions.

It's irrelevant what the consequences of taking him out of the team, in my view. Player of the season should be judged on how much they contribute when they're in the team.

I'm not disputing that Murray is our most important player, and the one who we miss the most when he is not playing, but El-Abd has been a model of consistency and his performances all year mean this award is fully deserved. Strikers generally get the plaudits as goals win games, but Adam's contribution this season shouldn't be underestimated.
