I think everyone was too busy sorting out balloons, wigs, face masks etc and kind of forgot about it.

Mind you I wasn't allowed to put up a banner today so not sure the flag would have been welcomed.

We've taken the flag to Swindon before and when I spoke to the safety officer he had no problem at all with us passing it over people's heads.

Ok then. Anyone who wants to help has to be OUT OF THE PUB and standing by the police box/disabled supporters section in the SOUTH STAND by 7.15pm.

They won't usually let us send it over any later than 7.35pm.

We need at least 8 helpers. All those who turn up are THEN allowed to moan that the flag is a white elephant no-one ever takes it anywhere etc on NSC.

Bear in mind that it passes over the South Stand - and the decent Sky cameras are above it, although some of the other cameras might get some sort of shot.

given that the Swindon stewards were on a real downer about flag sticks coming in the ground I suspect the jobsworth would have stopped it comong in. Although as a copper said to me (aftyer i called the stewards "W@@kers) "I think its a stupid rule but that's the stewards.

Also the Aldweershot-Shrewsbury game went on so long that Sky didn't switch to us ubntil 3.55 or so, so they would have missed it going out anyway.

The safety officer Ronn Topp knew all about it, all someone had to do was quote his name and the flag would've been allowed in.

Actually THAT is probably a decent excuse for not helping. It's well nigh impossible to get in the South Stand from the North and vice versa.

Today it would have been ONE MORE THING TO WORRY ABOUT IMHO re wigs, balloons, one site in brighton posters, masks, F knows what else.

The flag is there. If people want to take it they can. If no-one does then never mind.

It is a reasonable hassle to take it - you need a half-empty car, to get to the ground early enough to park reasonably close, at least four people who are equally keen to carry it - and it's still quite heavy, not to be too bothered about going to the pub first, able to hang around at the end to retrieve it etc etc....

What really annoys me is when people say THE FLAG MUST GO but obviously I can't take it because because because blah blah blah...

Lush you could have had it on your back seat,then let it out and blow behind you while driving.Plenty of room.

I'll help out, it should definitely get an airing on thursday. If everyone could get in their seats a few minutes earlier than normal it wil look more impressive as it passes over, and Sky will surely use it in thier little clips footage.
