I actually thought Knight had a decent game last night. He battled hard and looked good on the ball.

He suffered last night for the lack of support when he did get the ball. I suppose we are used to him getting the ball and skinning defenders, but we are in the psuedo premiership now and the defenders are that much better.

At one point, Currie crossed the ball and Knight surrounded by three players managed to toe poke it until the centre back cleared. Certain people on this board sat behind me had a right go at Leon for not getting the ball. It was rediculous

i am the first to admit that he is not on top form but give the guy a break

People are expecting too much of him thats the problem, yeah he scored loads last year but as you say these defences are that much better and he will find it harder. It may not be a case of "he's not looking for free space" more of the fact that defenders are marking him tighter than the slow fat useless slobs in Div2.
He maybe abit off the boil with the slow start but he will come good but dont expect 25+ goals again this season, more like 10-12 in my view.

Well said and until we push the ball through the defenders rather than over them he is not going to shine. His major ability is being ble to turn quickly and his low point of balance means that he is difficult to tackle without knocking him over hence the number of penalties and free kicks we got last year. Big lumbersome defenders do not lke tackling such a player on the ground in the box.

I agree.

Everyone around me was having a pop at him every five minutes. Sometimes I wonder what people expect of a man who is considered to be our most dangerous player and therefore is man marked and bullied every game. Thought he played well tonight but when he got the ball he was boundled off it. There was one tackle towards the end of the game where a Wolves defender seemed to go straight through him and he got nothing.

He needs the ball to feet more to, I counted a number of times last night where the ball was played up to him but it would be bouncing up to his head height, you've got to give him a chance. I think Jarrett is the key to Knight this year. Someone else to worry defenders with pace allowing Knight to get a bit of space and play his natural game.

I wasn't having a go at Knight, just saying he is not on top form (although I agree he did better last night) but for the team I think it would be worth trying Molango and Virgo together and have Knight on the bench.

Agreed.

I actually think he's looked sharp (in patches) for the last few games.

I just wish he wasn't such a wimp. He had the Physio on in the 3 mins added time last which really pissed me off. We were 1-0 down FFS, just run it off and get on with it.
