Did Towner play for the then Crawley or Lewes after us? Clutching at hazy memory straws.
So am I!!
That approx 83 - ?87 was a great time for County League football

Towner Played for Peacehaven as well I think.
Steve Piper was at Worthing then Littlehampton.
Tilts was at Littlehampton at the same time prior to Worthing
Ricky Sopp (Brighton) don’t think he played in the first team was also at Littlehampton.
The great Teddy Maybank played for Wick for a spell I think.
Sully also played can’t think where
Biz Russell also Brighton reserves was at Lewes

Martin Hinshelwood managed Littlehampton for about 8 weeks, prior to moving to Chelsea.

Bobby Stokes (76 cup final) for Soton, was at Chichester
Swindlehurst (Palace) was at Haywards Heath

Can’t think of any others…..

Edit - Dave Busby was at Littlehampton
Biz Russell and Steve Piper also played for Steyning.
Andy Rollings and Michael Ring also played CL.

And the levels above that in the pyramid? Gerry Armstrong at Southwick.

[My mum went to school with Steve Piper].

Great memories of him sprinting up the wing in front of the West, similar to Bridges a few years earlier.
Cobbled a few commercial finance deals together in his Worthing offices in later years, great sense of humour.
Best wishes to Di.

Was often a sub under Mullery. In the 76/77 season he scored a crucial winner at the Goldstone. Cant remember against whom but this was my memory of him.
That'll be the Port Vale match on the Easter Saturday
